A Post of Another Kind

by Jesse on February 11, 2011

I recently came across a blog that inspired this post. It’s a blog about learning to love yourself, for who you are. I found it to be very inspiring. Over the last year I have had people come and go from my life. Some, the leaving  had been a long time coming. I think you start to question yourself. So many times it has nothing to do with you. More, something that is going on with them. I won’t  bore you with too much detail, since this is mostly an interior design loving blog. However, I thought this went along well with the inspiration portion of the blog that I enjoy so much. A post of who…

I am.

I am… a child at heart.

I am…always trying to stretch myself.

I am… trying to be the mother I always wanted.

I am… giving.

I am… a sponge, always soaking up new things.

I am… strong.

I am… positive the Lord is walking with me.

I am… at a place where I realize it is okay to be me.

I hope that you might take away from this post, an embracing of who you are. And my sincere gratitude to all of you who read and who have connected with me here.

Really great post. I just came to that realization about 3 years ago that ‘me’ is a great person mainly because God created me to be me. It’s kind of sad that it took me that long and I only hope I can instill this idea in my kids right now, so they feel confident their entire life.

BTW, I’m glad you are you!

I completely relate to trying to be the mother you’ve always wanted. I tell my 16 year old daughter that same thing all the time. I’m sure when she’s a mom herself she’ll feel the same way. There is always something we long for, but I think most moms do the best that they can within the resources they have.

Wow, what a timely post for me to read. I feel like the past 12 months have been a time of exponential growth for me….spiritually, mentally, emotionally…. I’ve been so introspective lately about the kind of person I want to be and how I want to use my gifts to make a difference. Thank you for these beautiful words and images. I may have to try a similar post!
