My children are like most. You have to keep them busy. They also like to help and I figure I had better take advantage of that while I can. . And to be perfectly honest it’s time that they had more of a helping hand in keeping things picked up around here. That is where the chore chart comes in. =)
A super simple project that has been a huge success. The kids have enjoyed having things to check off their list. I am like that too, love checking things off my to do list. I took a pin board I had laying around and added extra ribbon running across in 3 lines. I stapled each line of ribbon to the back of the frame. We generally do everything by birth order around our house taking turns. So when I set up the chore chart they know the first line is Rhett, second Jude and third is Blair.
The chores include brushing teeth, making beds, and writing their names every day just for practice. Picking up their toys and a chore of the day which is to be determined each day. Today it happened to be Jude vacuuming, Blair wipping down the table and Rhett cleaned the front storm door. I will be sad when they no longer are so eager to help. When vacuuming is no longer fun.
To make each chore I used a circle cutter and cut enough circles to make all of the chores. Wrote out the chores on the circles and ran a little ink around the edges from an ink pad just for fun. Then attached them to small clothes pins with hot glue.
Hopefully the new exciting chore chart won’t wear off too soon, lol!
We have also made out a fun list of summer to do’s that I will share with you soon. I hope you have had a wonderful week. Seems as though the weeks are going by so fast these days!
