Coffee Table Upgrade :: DIY ::

by Jesse on March 21, 2014

We haven’t had a coffee table since the kids have came along. I was always one of those paranoid parents. Afraid one of the kids would bang their head on it. Now that they are older, I have been on the hunt. Not knowing exactly what I wanted, but sure that when I came across it, I would know it was the right one.

I had seen some that were great options, but they were so pricey. Like, this table by West Elm for $349.

I decided to hold out for a less expensive option. So I can’t tell you how excited I was to see this table on a recent Target run…

for $120!!

While  I like the black base on the table, I really wanted to introduce some brass into our space. This was the perfect opportunity.

That’s where this stuff came in handy.

I originally saw Janell do a project just like this. So borrowing some inspiration from her I ran out and got some Rub-n-Buff from our local Michael’s Craft Store, in antique gold.

Rubbed it onto the legs of the coffee table and bam…

nice brass legs!

Not too shiny or bright. Just a nice rich brass with the perfect amount of warmth.

A copy cat project for a fraction of the cost. Not to mention getting to add in that yummy gold!

And… just like that my favorite new DIY tool may be Rub-n-Buff. I have been looking around to see what I can change next!

So easy.

Happy Weekend Friends!
