I saw this last year and knew that this year I was going to give it a try.
So easy to do and makes a wonderful gift.
I started checking our local stores for bulk vanilla beans unsuccessfully. You can really find some great deals on vanilla beans online. I ended up purchasing mind at Beanilla. They have every kind of bean you could ever want.
Take your Vanilla bean and slice it down the center, keeping the ends in tact.
I used 3 beans to one cup of vodka.
Placing all of my cut beans and vodka into a mason jar.
This is how it looks after sitting for a few weeks. You will want to let your mixture “marinate” for 6 to 8 weeks. Then it is ready to use. I wanted to put mine into some smaller containers as gifts. I had been saving some pretty little jars left over from the spices I buy at Target. I just knew they would come in handy.
I had planned on printing sticky labels to place on each jar, and frankly didn’t want to have to run out and get paper. So I used cardstock I already had and printed off little tags. Cut each one with a craft punch and tied them with a ribbon.
Can’t wait to give these out!
Have a wonderful weekend friends!
