Hacked By Me

Over Analyze = Paralyze

Over Analyze = Paralyze

by Jesse on January 7, 2011

Do you ever feel like you are afraid to step out of the box? Or like you have analyzed so much you are now paralyzed?
Yeah, that’s where I’m at. Not sure if I want to step out of my comfort zone of neutrals (for a piece of furniture), not to mention this is a settee with less movability options that, say two chairs are. Boy… she sure is pretty.

I thought I knew exactly what style of chair I was after and now all of the sudden I am completely confused. LOL! I thought this new addition to Pier 1’s collection is pretty. But  do you think it is almost a bit country with the ticking fabric? Yet there is something I totally love about it. What do you think?

{Via Pier 1}

Armless… hmmm

{Urban Outfitters}

or not?

{Pier 1}

{Crate and Barrel}

or not.

See, this is how my mind works. Am I driving you crazy yet? This would totally drive my husband crazy! But since I know most of you are design enthusiasts too you can appreciate my maddness,or maybe you wished you had skipped this post. hehe.
I would love your thoughts? Are you coveting any piece of furniture?

Happy weekend!

Hi Jesse! I know what you mean about the over analyzing. I have to go rug shopping today and just make decisions! I really like the animal print chair. My grandma recovered chairs in the 70’s with that fabric and they are adorable. My sister has the chair that is still in that print, and I ended up with the one that she recovered in beige. Other than those her space was really neutral. That Pier 1 chair is pretty good looking too! Good luck!

I LOVE the bold patterns from Pier One. I am not brave enough either but I’d like to think I would go that route. I LOVE LOVE the ticking fabric too. I am coveting a ticking fabric bed set 🙂 OH MY!

I love that first one! Go with the one you loved at first sight. 😉 I’m coveting a black headboard (we have a dark brown one). I’d love to redo our bedroom sometime in the future, and have been scheming ways to get a new one.

I love yellow. You can be bold with a solid color and add a a pattern pillow ; ) That being said….I love every image on this post!! You will pick what goes best for you and your home. Good luck…..I can’t wait to see. I hoe you have a wonderful weekend.

Okay, I visited this morning and then took some thinkng time about the chairs…like the decision was mine or something 😉 My favorite one is the pattered Pier 1 chair. It seems to really fit with the rest of the elements in your home. So there you have it…my 2 cents…which should count for about 1 cent.

Thanks girl!

I tend to stick to my cone of comfort. I once fell in love with a friend’s yellow sofa and decided that I’d take a leap and order a bright green sofa, a favorite color, for my home. I ended up hating it within a year. Sometimes staying in the comfort zone is okay by me.

I love a settee any day. The crate and barrel chair is a good choice too. What room is this for Jesse?

TatianaNo Gravatar January 7, 2011 at 8:41 pm

I really like the armless chair from urban outfitters. But it really depends on what you have in your house to compliment it.
I’ve been looking for a great print chair for a few months now for Giada’s room, but all the ones I really like are way out of my price range! Why do they have to be so freaking expansive!???!!?

i over analyze like crazy too! every single chair is stunning! i really like the ikat chair, and the yellow is so cheerful! i say go out of your comfort zone! i am excited to see what you pick girl~ have a great weekend!

I did have a yellow couch…thought I’d add some color to my life…found out that’s not the way to add ‘color’…on certain days it cheered me up but mostly it got old and worn out looking very quickly. If it were me, I would go with the last Crate and Barrel chair…contemporary lines yet classic. Bring your color in with throw pillows and accessories, much easier (and cheaper) to switch out when you are tired of the color and want to move on!

What room is it for? I love all your choices! We have a settee in a bold pattern, and I still love it. It is such a fun piece.

I so so so appreciate all of your comments! The chairs will be for the living room. There is a photo of our couch up in the “my home” tab at the top of the page.

I feel your pain. I am almost paralyzed FOR you!

SarahNo Gravatar January 10, 2011 at 1:55 am

I feel your pain! However, I will say, that I learned the hard way about patterned chairs. I bought some I thought I loved and two months later I was ready for something new. The nice thing about something neutral is you can make it crazy or plain with a throw pillow or the accessories in the room. I bought the DwellStudio fabric (on the Crate & Barrel chair} and LOVE it – I am making drapes out of it. So great in person. I am done with patterned furniture {or so I say for now} 😉 Hopefully this helps!

I totally understand. I can see something on a blog or on TV that I absolutely fall in love with and think I must have but then when it comes to actually pulling the trigger, I doubt that it would look good in my own house! I lack the decisiveness it takes to go for it. Plus, my husband always seems to have a DIFFERENT opinion than mine which then puts us at a standstill.

BromeliadNo Gravatar January 20, 2011 at 7:33 pm

i TOTALLY understand. I’ve been hung up for days over a $50 lamp.
