Q&A, Mommy Moments

by Jesse on November 11, 2010

Today’s questions all pretty well tied in together.

Q.) “What was your first thought when you
found out you were having twins”?

A). To be quite honest it was a sense of relief. Why?
Well I will tell you a little story. I had gone in
to several appointments not knowing we
were having twins. It was time for
that 5 month apt. where you have
all of the babies measurements taken.
I had been having this strange feeling, like
something wasn’t quite right. I didn’t feel bad,
just something in the back of my mind.

So I went in and the gal doing the ultrasound puts
the wand on my belly and immediately pulls
it off. (Keep in mind I had gone to this appointment
alone, so I could surprise Josh, with the 1 babies gender.
Josh was also home so he could watch our 1 year
old). Back to my story, She pulled that wand off
my tummy and asked me when the last time
I was in the office and had an ultrasound.
At 3 months I told her.
She really had me worried at that point.
She looks through my chart and comes and
sits back down beside me, puts
the ultrasound wand back on my
belly and I could very clearly see
that I was having twins. What a relief,
It was twins and they were perfectly healthy.

And just to let you know how
I told Josh the sex of our {babies}.
I ran to Target straight from
my appointment. Looking completely
strange as I giggled to myself,
in a daze as I walked around the baby section.
I picked up a boy outfit
and a girl outfit. When I walked in the
door, Josh immediately asked me
“Well what is it”?
I held up the outfits and he looked
at me kind of confused. “Which is it”?
“It’s both I” said as I started to cry.
I hadn’t had any real reaction
to the news until that point.
A moment I will never forget.

{The twins at about 4 days old}

Q&A, Mommy Moments

Q.) What was your profession pre babies and do you “work” now outside the home?

A.) I was off work for 6 months with the twins. Two months before and
four after they were born. Pre-baby I had been a hair stylist for
7 years working about 50 hours a week. After we settled
in to a good routine I went back to 2 days a week.
I have the absolute best clientele in the world.
They are more than clients they are like
family. My two days a week are full and crazy
10 hour days. My hubby owns his own
online ad agency and works from home.
So we are able to
homeschool the kids and
have never had to have them in day

{This is what my days used to consist of}

Q&A, Mommy Moments

Q.) I’m curious how you got start blogging…what made you want to begin?
How long have you been blogging? how do you find time?

A.) I started blogging in 2007 very randomly,
a suggestion from my husband.
Picked up more in 2008 when I
realized my love of interior
design had a whole new world…
the blogosphere. I really needed some
kind of adult outlet, that
didn’t involve spit up,
or poop, or bottles, or crying.
With 3 in diapers I am
sure you can feel my pain.
I have always done my
blog writing in the evenings,
after I get the kids in bed.
I do try to read periodically
throughout the day
when I get a change to
break away. But usually finish up
in the evenings. I am a total night owl
and stay up til at least midnight.
Most nights.

Q&A, Mommy Moments

Q.) What is something you can’t live without?

A.) I would definitely have to say my computer! It has
been so nice to get to meet
new people through blogging and search for
things that I needed for the babies. Because
when you have 3 children
so little you is so much easier
to shop online. I can window shop and never
leave the house. Bliss!
Can’t live without it now!

Q&A, Mommy Moments

I am working on a day in the life
kind of post and I have some fun
Christmas crafts coming up to
show you also. I am going to answer
a few more questions I have left and

with the Q&A linky series.
Just for fun. So those of you who want
to participate just jump

Hope you have enjoyed these
mommy moments.

Have a fantastic day!

I don’t think I realized that you still worked 2 days a week. I think that is awesome that you and your husband are able to make that work. I LOVE being home with my boys, but some days I think it would be nice to work part time, without the hassle of day care.
