So Many Changes

by Jesse on August 8, 2011

Life has almost been a blur lately.

Seems there are not enough hours in the day to get it all done. I have been really working hard trying to learn a new craft. Here is something I have been working on. =)

Gosh, there are so many things you can do with photoshop.  I think we all need to be able to have a creative outlet. Whatever that may be.

On another note we had a weekend of birthday celebrating! Saturday we took the twins for cupcakes…

Which were divine!

And Sunday we went to a nearby town and visited a new waterpark! The kids had a ball! Slept really well that night too. =)

I posted a quote on my facebook recently and had quite a few responders. I thought I might get your take on it.

Food for thought…

What if you don’t have a village?

What if the village you have doesn’t believe the same way you do?

What if the village you have is consumed with themselves?

What if your village has brought in people you feel are unsafe for your lil village?

Some of the above things are things going on inside my village. However God is oh so good! Over the last few years my husband and I have been blessed with one truly wonderful relationships that far outweigh the negatives of  blood relatives. I think at the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you were born and raised in the same household. What matters is the love they have for you and your children. I know some of you read {my blog} and I am truly thankful for you! Your friendships and generosity make my heart so full!

And THANK YOU my bloggy friends! It is so wonderful to have such a sweet, supportive bunch. I truly appreciate your comments and you taking your time out to visit! I have met so many lovely people and I am the better for it!

Hugs my friends!

What a thought provoking post. It can be hard to raise your children in a society where the cast of Jersey Shore is making a huge sum of money to behave badly. It’s pretty clear that your children know they are cherished and that goes a very long way.

I totally agree! It’s sad that society is so a belting if su h awful behavior. I hope that in the coming year a new trend will form.

This post’s timing is so interesting! It’s hard sometimes to cut out the negative villagers because they are blood but ive been making those difficult decisions recently. Having kids it makes it almost easier and harder at the same time. Easier to protect your kids but harder because it’s sad that your kids won’t have that family. Oh life! Why does it have to be so difficult at times? 🙂

Blair, I have struggled for years with feelings of guilt, didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Then I decided I am not going to live that way any more. Life is now about doing what is right for my family. In my case, having divorced parents has brought in so many problems. All of the sudden you have new people and situations put in your life you didn’t ask for. I think my job as a mother and wife is to protect my family and do what I feel is best.
Hugs!

The cupcakes look wonderful!

We have been truly blessed to live in town with both sets of grandparents and extended family. They are all wonderful. We also have some great friends. We have been really blessed.

It takes a village to raise a child, but not just any village. You have to be careful who is in your village. Family or not, God trusted you and your husband to raise your children in his ways and to protect them. You are such a great mama, and from what I can tell you have their best interests in mind at all times.

Amanda, it’s so true. Cast not your pearls in front of swine. It may not be popular, but it is what’s best.
Hugs girl!

Oh boy… I know precisely what you mean my friend! It’s a shame that sometimes those who have known you the longest and share the same blood are the ones that end up letting you down the most. It’s so hard when the ones you used to lean on for everything have now chosen paths you would never choose. I really loved this post and had never put it in terms of “my village” but that is a completely appropriate way of phrasing it. I am going to start using that phrase in my prayers… “Lord, please help my village!” 🙂 xoxo
