Spring Family Pics

by Jesse on March 23, 2011

I am a photoaholic! REALLY! We usually get new family photos once a year. The last ones we had taken were in the fall of 09, so we are due. This time around I wanted to have them taken in the spring. Switch it up! So in a few weeks we will be having them done. For now I have been throwing around ideas for what we all should wear. Deciding on a color scheme and picking out clothes for 5 people can be challenging. =)

Here is a look at what I am thinking so far.

Not sure about me in the dress yet. I have to be in a dress mood. LOL

Of course I will share them once we have them taken. The talented Jenny Collier is going to do them for us!

Fun! Fun!

Are you a pic junkie?

Have a terrific day friends!

xx

Awe Thanks for sharing! Those colors look soo great together! I think that you wearing a dress will look beautiful! So springy! If you don’t wanna keep it too dressy, you could throw on a jean jacket or something! I’m so excited for you! Pictures are awesome!! I wish I was better at it! So far we did Christmas pics every year, hopefully I’ll keep it going!

Definitely a picture junkie! I’m actually a professional photographer myself, so I’m always the one behind the camera and never in any of the pictures! I always have to force myself to hire someone else to take our pictures because I know they won’t get taken otherwise :) Have fun and I love your outfit choices! Not too “matchy-matchy!”

oooohh we are having pictures taken too (in june) and i am clueless about what to wear! we are only three total with a little girl this should be easy! BUT i’m pregnant and going to be huge by then so i’m stuck on what maternity i can find and feel good in. what other color schemes are you working with? do you find any other good ideas you could pass on? this is supposed to be fun and i’m kind of stressing – do i pick an adorable outfit for my daughter first and go from there? or find me something maternity? and since i’m having a boy, should i wear blue? is that cheesy? the photoshoot is our family, my maternity, and then our daughter’s 4 year all rolled into one session, oh my! i’d love any ideas you have! and if not, i love seeing what you picked for yourself and can’t wait to see the finished product!! yay! so fun!

Kristine, I think Alice’s tips are right on the mark. I definitely think you should find something you love for yourself and then find for everyone else. =)

sorry if I am overstepping by commenting to someone else, but this is to Kristine!!

Find YOUR outfit first and go from there. That is what I always do now. The few times I have picked out my kids outfits first, I can NEVER find what I envision for myself. And I always ended up unhappy with the final result. LOL!

Secondly, pregnancy is beautiful! You are growing a human being. Your child. And right now with all the different styles out, you could surely find you something that isn’t even maternity. Maybe like a tunic top and some leggings, or a cute maternity tank with a brightly-colored cardigan with jeans. Accessorize and wear some fun heels.

And in regards to doing maternity pics, if you don’t find something blue to wear for your boy…then do you have anything for your son already that is sentimental to you? Take it with you to the photoshoot. Can you buy some blocks and spell out your son’s name. Hold those by your belly.

Love your ideas! =)
I totally agree with finding something she will love first and then go from there.

Love! So excited Jesse. I love that you your personalities shine through (especially with the fedora – love it), the color choices, and that it all flows without being matchy.

Can’t wait!

Wear the dress! Wear the dress! Love it all.

Pic junkie? I prefer “photographically enthusiastic”. ;) I design for and own a boutique (can I plug it? ;) The Pea Closet – Boutique Designs for the Lady, the Baby, the Home and
I’ve been doing all the product photog for several years now (plus I have three kiddos, too! 2 boys/1 girl…so I never put my camera down). I’m now expanding my boutique to include Lifestyle Photography (humbly after many people have asked for my services). Let’s just say taking pics of people is a lot more fun than blankets and changing pads. ;)

Loving your blog! Think I’m going to have to stick around and read more!
