Thinking Ahead

by Jesse on February 17, 2011

Hello friends,

I’m glad you have come to visit. I wanted to share with you a few ideas for a big boy room.

Right now my Rhett doesn’t have his own space. The purchase of the desk is going to be his little space for all of his favorite things. So when thinking of refinishing the piece I needed to be thinking of his future room. Something that will grow with him. He is going through that whole, “I’m a big kid” thing. So nothing baby for him. He is his mother’s child and wants me to paint the desk gray. He is pretty insistent! We are coming up with a plan… together. In the mean time I got to thinking about what the rest of the pieces in his future room might look like. This way I knew if the gray desk would work. Of course, gray goes with everything. =)

So here is what I have come up with so far. I can’t wait to really do this for him. He is so deserving and takes such good care of his things.

We are already at the end of the week! Can you believe it? Hope you have had a good one so far!

xx

Jesse

Jesse you and Rhett are a dynamic duo. I am loving the vibe of this room. The blue, grey and orange is a perfect color combo. Those lamps are fab as is the clock and map. luv!

The inspiration board looks amazing. I love grey and I think it goes really well with what else you’ve picked! Look forward to seeing how you put this into practise!

We are finally updating our boys rooms. They get to pick their paint and I’m nervous about that! They also want ceiling fans! They are comfortable, but I hope I can find something that looks good. I like your colors – Noah has a cream wood bed and then a black dresser and rustic metal sidetable, etc. He also has a gray quilt and some red and orange! Kinda similar.

Looks like a perfect spot that will grow with Rhett.
I’m a little partial to gray and white since those were the colors of the first bedroom I shared with my husband after we were married, love it with the blue and orange touches.

Hello…how do you create those board things (where you have pieced together all of the ideas)? We are getting ready to work on our master bedroom and I need to do something like this.
Thanks for your help!

Alice this board was made at polyvore.com. It really does help to see all of your ideas in one place. Good luck! =)

Thank you! I will try it out. We are thinking grays and yellows. Not sure what bright color we want to use to add color.
