I really can’t believe I doubted how much I would love this.
You know, I just couldn’t commit to putting up wallpaper,
mostly because this isn’t my forever home. So, a stencil
was the next best thing. I loved the pattern, and realized
how much after I painted the cabinet. The paint color
on the walls is a flat, so I thought it would be fun to do the
stencil pattern in a high gloss one shade lighter. In the evening,
when just the lamps are on it really give the
prettiest glow.

I am still wanting to find two smaller mirrors or something round
to put on either side of the larger white mirror. And I am so ready for some
different type of TV stand. I am just not sure what. Funny thing is, when
I finished the stenciled wall it made the TV stand look better! LOL
I guess the wall was just that pretty. =)

What do you think? Have you done wallpaper or a stencil
wall in your home?

I’ve done neither but I love the way your wall came out!!! Did you just do the one wall? Is there a tutorial for how you did this to get clean lines? I’m thinking of doing it to my coffee table…Not sure yet, though.
Krystle, I did do just the one feature wall. I used a stencil I downloaded free from Jones Design co blog and used a small craft paint brush. You should go for it!
Can you Post a link for the stencil. I want to do a feature wall with it.
Hi Weesha,
It’s http://jonesdesigncompany.com/decorate/painted-wallpaper-a-tutorial/.
=)
Seriously, YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I love everything about it. Great taste, momma. Hugs!!!!
It’s fab-u-lous Jesse! I didn’t even notice the tv until you mentioned it, the stencil really takes center stage here.
I’m so worried that my perfectionism would kick into high gear doing this – how is it? How are the lines? How could I ever convince my husband?
It looks fabulous!!! : )
This wall looks amazing. Well done Jesse. Will you come to CA and do this for me?
That wall is definitely gorgeous! Have a beautiful day, Kellie xx
I LOVE this! Is it the Jones Design Pattern? I might have to get the colors you used.
LOVE IT!
It is girl! That made it so easy!
It is beautiful! One day when we aren’t renting I plan to do this somewhere.
So perfect for that space! I hope you had fun with the project too …
Can I hire you to do my family room with this stencil!??
Was it difficult? It makes such an amazing statement!
It really wasn’t hard. More time consuming. But the finished result is so worth it.
You did SO good–love this stencil so much (I’ve referred it to a client). You know I love both–but I love stencils in bathrooms and laundry rooms so the paper won’t warp.
Oh man I thought I was going to premier this! lol
I am so excited to show this off you did an amazing job!!!!!
I LOVE!
Luvs!
hehe, I thought you might have been too!
Wow, this is completely eerie! That is the exact design I’m doing in our master bedroom, in the exact same fashion. High gloss against flat paint. We are moving in in two weeks and I can’t wait to get to work. Great minds think alike
Can’t wait to see it!
it looks amazing! love it girly~
Thanks! You guys are so great!
Wow! That looks fantastic! I’m half way through doing my hallway using this stencil. I’m not too sure about it though… I think I need to do a second coat cause it’s a bit ordinary, I think my paint is a bit too thick… You’ve inspired me to keep going and finish it off!
impressive! if only i had the patience you girls have to do this. painting stripes in my son’s nursery ruined me for a few years. all that laser leveling!
in case you didn’t see, i replied to your movie comment. totally get it!
Wow, that is soo gorgeous! It looks like it actually is wallpaper with how perfectly aligned the pattern is. Nice job!
I just saw your link as I was browsing Tatertots and Jello weekend party and I must say, you did a fabulous job on this. It looks so good! My daughter wants me to do this for her house, this gives me the push I needed. Beautiful.
Oh I am so glad! It really is easy. You girls will love the results. =)
I love this. I have been trying to talk my husband into letting me do this forever. You’re wall looks amazing. Maybe the pictures of your’s will convince him!
i. love. it. jesse….this looks amazing!!!
Holy COW! How did you have patience to do this? It looks straight out of a magazine. So wonderfully beautiful!
This is gorgeous and so elegant – I love it!
So happy I just discovered your blog! I am your newest reader!
Have a lovely weekend!
xx

I wish I had a better answer for you. But I just eyeballed it. I started in the center of the wall and went from the floor to the ceiling. Then out from there.
=)
How did I not already comment on this? It looks fabulous! I love the colors. Great job!
Oh, and when I showed my husband your pictures (so he could see how I hope our bathroom will turn out), he said “oh look, she has a ginger jar and the Domino book too.”
LOL Em! Just means we both have good taste. =)
I so love this!!!!! Perfect for that room! Your newest follower!
Great job! I have this template downloaded on my computer to put on my tv wall. How did you get all of your lines even (the same width)? BTW love your blog and I will be following! Michelle at Dibble Dabble Life
Thank You Michelle. I wish I had a more technical answer for how I kept my lines all even, but I really just eye-balled it. I started at the top and center of the wall. And worked all the say down to the bottom. When I went back up to the top of the wall for my next line I matched the rounded edge of the stencil to the other round edge and worked all the way down.
Decided I’m definitely doing this to a wall in our dining room! I love it! Where did you get the jar? Also that Domino book is fantastic!
This is amazing!! I have been wanting to do something like this. How was it? Did it take you forever?
I LOVE IT!!! It looks AMAZING! I’m totally inspired & have to do this in my home somewhere…home office? master bedroom?? Can you tell me the paint colors you used?? Thanks for the inspiration
You did a fantastic job. It looks just like wallpaper.
I LOVE THIS! I’ve seen it on Jones and Co. but haven’t been able to convince myself to spend so much time on it. Unfortunately, I have way too many projects going on. Still, seeing this makes me want it even more! You’ve done such a good job on it!
I LOVE it! Oh my gosh it look so good!!
Holy wow! this is fantastic!
LOVE this! I stumbled across your blog several months ago and just now refound it and I’m so glad!
I LOVE this new stenciling craze, but I am so intimidated by it! How did you do it? You should put up a tutorial!
AMAZING!!! I must find a wall to stencil ASAP!! Love it!
Beautiful job. The end result is fabulous,,, subtle yet such a statement.
Have a great weekend!!

Hey there! Just found your web site. Love the wall. It did make the TV look better! Can you share where you got your stencil. I find similar ones but not as simple and clean lined. Many thanks!
Hi Dianne, Thank you for your kind words. I downloaded my stencil pattern from here, http://jonesdesigncompany.com/decorate/painted-wallpaper-a-tutorial.
Best of luck to you! I think you will love the results. =)
Your wall l0oks amazing! I was linked here via Made by Girl. I especially love the colors you chose. I searched your blog to see if you ever posted the colors of paint you used, but I couldn’t find anything. Could you tell me what the colors are – the background and the color you stenciled with? Also, were your walls at all textured? Was that a problem?
Thanks!
Hi Mindy,
Our walls are smooth. The colors I used are stormy weather and the color the shade lighter on the swatch. Can’t remember what it was called. The brand of paint is Olympic, but I had both colors mixed in Valspar. Just haven’t had good luck with Olympic paint. Also the wall color (stormy weather) is a flat and the stencil color is a gloss.
Hope that helps. =)
LOVE!!! thanks for the inspiration!
so gorgeous. would love to share on my blog tomorrow with a stencil giveaway. Hope that is okay!
Would SO love a wall like that!!!!
what is the paint colors you used on this wall?
Thanks,
stephanie
Was wondering where you found that cool vase?
Hi Molly,
I found it at Tj Maxx. =)
I love that white container on the books. Where is it from?
Hi Amy, it’s from TJ Maxx. =)
What is your wall color? I love it!
Love this look-you did a great job! I really like your paint colors too-do you remember the names of the paint colors?
I love it!!! I just did it to one of our walls and I am so happy with the results!! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jesse, how did you mark the stencil outline on your walls? Pencil leaves a mark the paint won’t cover in one coat. Also, did you free hand the thickness of the line? Do you have suggestions on how to start with a 1/4 of an inch and not end up with 1/2 inch by the end. I should ask how thick is your line?
Your wall looks amazing. I am doing my wall in mint with white glossy lines.
